Post 468 Family,
In response to the developing public health situation with COVID-19 and following the Directive of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine on avoiding large gatherings, the Canteen has been closed and most Post activities and events have been canceled or postponed to a later date. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed.
We understand that many members will be impacted financially as a result of this. We are exploring options and financial assistance programs available to our members. If you have a need please call the Post and we will attempt to find the best option for you. The Post will also be setting up a relief fund to assist our families during this time. If you would like to donate to this fund please mail a check to: Post 468 Relief Fund, P.O. Box 217, Sylvania, OH 43560
One of the main objectives of the American Legion is supporting our Veterans and their families. As a member of our American Legion Family I am asking for one of two things from you:
- If you fall into the “at risk” category, over the age of 60 or have an underlying health condition, I ask that you please stay home as much as possible to avoid coming into contact with someone who is infected. If you have a need please call the Post at 419-882-9080 and arrangements will be made to assist you.
- If you don’t fall into the “at risk” category I’m asking for your help. We need volunteers to help those that fall into the “at risk” category with things like providing them with meals, picking up groceries or prescriptions and other basic needs.
